I have been writing about and studying compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, moral injury, and burn out since my graduate thesis in 2010. Since then, I have presented at universities, public schools, hospitals, mental health services, community orgs, and corporations. I’ve worked with fire fighters, police, doctors, nurses, mental health clinicians, teachers and many more direct service providers struggling to cope in their high demand jobs.
